No Parking Exhibition Design
Archadia are pleased with their entry into the Open Call 2019 RIBA Architecture Gallery Boundaries competition. The installation is a built collection of linking architectural sculptures designed to illustrate the struggles disabled people have with the world daily. The design is a parkland created with disabled adaptations products. These designs focus on the stigma attached to disability, the environment and behaviour of others which stop a person being able to live independently with dignity.
Beyond the home there is still a need for greater understanding of the profound and complex nature of some disabilities. We need to challenge how we see the houses of the future being built, how we develop our products and change our behaviours in the public realm. With an ageing population we need to look at future-proofing our housing and society.
